About Damson Hill Cottage.
Damson Hill Cottage is a labour of love. When the Corbett family moved in ten years ago, it was a charming, rather rickety cottage, set in wild grounds. John and Tors saw the potential the location held to make their dream of a country life spent doing jobs they loved, a reality. And so they planned, built, collected and created …and gradually, over time, Damson Hill Cottage grew into an eclectic and very beautiful home, set into stunning grounds and incorporating the places and spaces that contribute to what is an idyllic venue for fitness, relaxation and celebration. Tragically, and very unexpectedly in 2020, John passed away, leaving Tors and the children with his incredible legacy. Everything that now happens here keeps John firmly in mind and the memories of him very much alive.
dAMSON HILL
Tucked away on the edge of the South Downs, near the Hampshire village of Swanmore, Damson Hill combines steep slopes, glorious views, wonderful dappled woodland. With secret shady glades, sun baked decks, grassed areas and plenty of sky, it’s the perfect spot to work-out in, relax in, begin a walk or run from… or retreat to. The environment not only provides a beautiful backdrop, it’s also a brilliant source of the ingredients Tors uses (like wild garlic and damsons), and for naturally occurring apparatus for classes like the Woodland Workout. All the buildings have been created in harmony with the landscape, so whether you’re in a studio, under a canopy or in the outdoors, there’s always a fabulous view.
THE COTTAGE
The Cottage has developed into an integral part of the Damson Hill Cottage vibe. Designed by John and Tors and built to co-ordinate with the surroundings, its expansive windows and decks seamlessly blend the inside with the outdoors. The comfortable kitchen is where Tors serves up her Woodland Workout breakfasts and prepares the delicious spreads you’ll enjoy at her Clubs and events. Filled with interesting vintage finds and eclectic decor, it’s both a hub of activity and a family haven.
THE STUDIOS
Fitness classes at Damson Hill Cottage take place in a variety of places. The Studio fits up to eight people and has an outdoor deck for when the weather is good. The Workshop is a slightly larger space with Bi fold doors opening out. All our studio spaces are available to hire and are fitted out to accommodate aerial, TRX and reformer equipment. There are toilet facilities and the Workshop has a sink. We also have an ‘outside studio’ in the form of a secret Woodland deck - ideal for pilates or fitness classes as well as a wonderful space for meditation or coaching.
VICTORIA | FOUNDER & FITNESS INSTRUCTOR
A graduate from Winchester School of Art, Victoria began her career in London, in the fast-paced world of Advertising. Whilst in the peak of her career, she was run over in a hit and run accident which led her to a complete lifestyle change after 4 years of operations. Focussing on becoming a fully accredited Pilates instructor and Personal Trainer after going through so much rehab herself, Victoria also developed her creative talents, taking up silk painting whilst recuperating. She has exhibited in London as well as the interiors based trade shows and now happily sells her work to a wide variety of customers, as well as keeping Damson Hill Cottage up and running.
