About Us.

Damson Hill Cottage is the home of the Corbett family and the base for John and Victoria’s eclectic collection of businesses. A delightfully characterful, period cottage, surrounded by acres of beautiful sloping woodland – Damson Hill Cottage has been lovingly renovated and developed by the creative couple and transformed into an idyllic venue for fitness, relaxation and celebration.

A graduate from Winchester School of Art, Victoria began her career in London, in the fast-paced world of Advertising. Whilst in the peak of her career, she was run over in a hit and run accident which led her to a complete lifestyle change after 4 years of operations. Focussing on becoming a fully accredited Pilates instructor and Personal Trainer after going through so much rehab herself, Victoria also developed her creative talents, taking up silk painting whilst recuperating. She has exhibited in London as well as the interiors based trade shows and now happily sells her work to a wide variety of customers, as well as keeping Damson Hill Cottage up and running.

John’s main job and passion is antique dealing. It started by accident 30 years ago with a steep learning curve involving putting what little money he had where his mouth was. After various shops, a stint for a London Auctioneer and running his own saleroom, he now sources treasures for interior designers and private clients as well as honing his joinery skills creating the beautifully rustic buildings and structures that make Damson Hill Cottage so special. Firmly ensconced there, happily married with six children to his name, John can honestly say that he couldn't wish for a better way to make a living.

In her early twenties, a passion for snowboarding and a desire for adventure led Ruth to a life in the mountains of Whistler, British Columbia. Working alongside professional athletes, Ruth discovered the benefits of yoga as a route to building flexibility and strength but it wasn’t until she experienced years of fertility issues that she began to understand the potential mental, physical and spiritual connection which yoga offers - and the potential for self discovery, purpose and healing. Now living in Winchester with her husband and children, Ruth is a graduate of the Avani Yoga Academy, having completed the Yoga Alliance Accredited Teacher Training course and Yoga Nidra Meditation course.
